The rules. Plain language.

By using Statehouse — the web application at statehouse.io and the associated weekly email digest — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, don't use the service.
What Statehouse is
Statehouse delivers AI-generated analysis of state-level legislation. Our pipeline ingests bills from public sources, summarizes them, and identifies potential business opportunities. We score and explain each opportunity using a defined methodology.
What Statehouse is not
Statehouse is not legal, tax, financial, or investment advice. Conviction scores reflect our model's judgment, not a guarantee of outcome. Bills change throughout a session — what we publish on Sunday may be amended, killed, or signed before you read it. Verify the current status of any bill before making business decisions, and consult qualified professionals for legal and financial advice.
Accounts
You need an email address to create an account. You are responsible for the email and any sessions tied to your account. Keep your sign-in link private — anyone with access to your inbox can sign in as you.
Subscriptions
Statehouse offers monthly and annual subscriptions. Both include a 30-day free trial; you can cancel during the trial without being charged. After the trial, your card is charged on the cadence you selected and renewed automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time from the Stripe billing portal linked on your settings page.
Refunds. We don't offer prorated refunds on remaining time after cancellation, but email hello@statehouse.io within 7 days of an annual charge if the product hasn't worked for you and we'll make it right.
Acceptable use
Subscriptions are for individual professional use. Don't republish or resell our content as your own. Don't scrape or otherwise extract content at scale beyond normal browsing. Don't use the service to do anything illegal or to interfere with other users.
Intellectual property
Bill texts and government documents are public records and remain so. The analysis, scoring, editorial content, and design produced by Statehouse are ours. You can quote and cite our work for personal, journalistic, or research purposes with attribution; bulk copying or commercial reuse requires permission.
Service changes and availability
We may change features, pricing, or this agreement. Material changes will be announced by email to active subscribers. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, that scores or summaries are accurate, or that the service will meet your specific requirements.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Statehouse's aggregate liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months prior to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Termination
You can cancel your subscription and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in courts located in Multnomah County, Oregon.
